OUTING CELEBRITIES

February 23, 2008

Someone recently brought up a topic on whether certain actors were gay or not.  They talked about one in particular who was married with kids, which tells one nothing.  Then they mentioned the guy can’t be, he’s very athletic and loves surfing.  Because someone is athletic and very much into surfing doesn’t mean that they’re straight.  There are just as many people who are gay that are equally athletic and into surfing.  It’s the fifties stigma that if your flamboyant your automatically gay.  This is just no longer true.  It’s common and hip to be gay now, so much that more and more people are much more receptive and open about it.  You can’t one tell one apart from the other anymore.  This topic has turned into a much bigger conversation when it shouldn’t be.  I wonder who cares who is gay and who isn’t unless you’re interested in dating him.  What could possibly change in your life if he is or isn’t?  How does this honestly affect you?  I have to question those that are pressing answers to this, what is missing from your life that this is gossip that feeds your soulless aura?  Our fascination with this and our obsession with the outer man creeps me out.
