The Summer of ’07 saw an explosive hit out of that, “Umbrella”, a tune constructed with a hip-hop beat accompanied with an edgy rock grit, which told the story of sticking by your mate no matter what. Rihanna puts her “Good Girl Gone Bad” piece to a close by ending it with something at the differing end of the gamut with “Take a Bow”.

“Take a Bow” is a dark soul ballad about someone who has discovered that their lover has been playing them, so they gracefully and swiftly remove them from there life.

Rihanna starts the song off with, “How about a round of applause. A standing ovation.” We immediately get a glimpse at what’s happened between this couple. She throws her guy out for being dishonorable, reminiscent of Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable”.

He begs for forgiveness, but she giggles, “Don’t tell me you’re sorry because you’re not, when I know you’re only sorry you got caught”. How many times have you figured out you were played and your mate attempts to list a bunch of reasons and excuses that are longer than some housewife’s grocery list. Her voice is seductive and remains cool when she utters, the word, “Please”, seeing through her lover’s lies.

“You put on quite a show, you had me going, but now it’s time you go.” Rihanna plays the angry scorned taking the high road over an elegantly constructed master back theme telling her lover to get lost, she enjoyed his play, and now she’s kicking him off the stage. “Grab your clothes and get gone, you better hurry up before the sprinklers come on.” as she rushes him out of her life.

Rihanna’s record company hopes to push the successful “Good Girl Gone Bad” album past the 5 million mark by issuing this re-release for the summer, if anything “Take a Bow” will be a sure fire radio hit and for all those that have ever been played offering them sort of release, and a stylish way of cutting off the chains that bind you.
